JOB TITLE:
PT Pharmacy Clerk
JOB PURPOSE:
Pharmacy Clerk acts as a vital support role in the pharmacy, ensuring smooth operations and providing excellent customer service while working under the direction of pharmacists and technicians. Wyoming Family Practice Pharmacy is located Casper, Wyoming.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Customer Service & Patient Interaction
- Greet patients warmly and provide prompt assistance.
- Respond to questions regarding prescription status, refill requests, and general pharmacy services.
- Direct complex medical or medication inquiries to licensed pharmacy staff.
- Ensure a positive and respectful environment for patients, caregivers, and staff.
- Cashiering & Point-of-Sale Support
- Accurately operate pharmacy point-of-sale systems to process transactions.
- Handle cash, credit, and insurance co-pays in accordance with organizational policies.
- Reconcile daily transactions and follow secure cash handling protocols.
- Clerical & Administrative Assistance
- Answer and route phone calls, take accurate messages, and assist with prescription pickup scheduling.
- Support electronic documentation and assist with filing records in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Coordinate internal pharmacy communications as needed.
- Inventory Support & Supply Monitoring
- Stock front-end pharmacy items and assist with restocking medications under the supervision of pharmacy staff.
- Monitor shelf levels and alert appropriate personnel regarding low stock, expired products, or order needs.
- Maintain accurate supply records and assist in inventory cycle counts.
- Facility Cleanliness & Organization
- Maintain a clean and organized front-end area, waiting area, and pharmacy counter.
- Assist in sanitizing high-touch surfaces and workstations.
- Ensure patient confidentiality through proper workspace organization and privacy procedures.
- Support to Licensed Staff
- Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with non-clinical duties, such as bagging prescriptions or preparing materials for patient education.
- Follow all protocols regarding access to medications and protected health information.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS: - Medication Transport: Transporting medications to customers who cannot pick them up. Driving to designated locations and delivering medications and supplies.
- Interacting with Staff/Providers: May interact with nursing staff at senior centers or clinics when making deliveries.
- Inventory Management: Maintaining accurate delivery logs and ensuring proper inventory control.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.
