Description
Casper College is seeking applicants for the position of Electrical Apprentice Adjunct Instructor. This position will teach electrical apprenticeship classes within the School of Business and Industry. This position is location bound and specifically will teach ELAP 1515 - Electrical Apprenticeship IA (a 5 instructional unit (IU) course) at Pathways Innovation Center, Monday - Friday, from 9:30 - 10:55 am for the 2025 Fall Semester (8/18/25 - 12/12/25). The pay for this course is $4,250.

The position reports to the Dean of Business & Industry. The basic responsibility of an adjunct faculty member is to review and distribute course syllabi to each class, follow standard course design designated by the dean or school, arrange for the acquisition and preparation of appropriate materials and equipment necessary to meet course objectives, and basic reporting duties including grade reports, etc. Adjunct faculty members are evaluated by students, the dean and department, and the college administration. The instructor must share a commitment to Casper College's student first objective.

Essential Duties

  • Teach designated course(s) in the Electrical Apprenticeship Program. These classes are part of a series of classes and are designed to complement the on-the-job-training received by electrical apprentices. The courses are to provide the electrical apprentice with the necessary knowledge to ensure safe and efficient work practices on the job. Topics of study include safety, the National Electrical Code, electrical theory, and wiring methods.
  • Prepare syllabi and schedules for each course.
  • Develop lesson plans.
  • Procure appropriate materials needed for course instruction.
  • Reporting duties including student grade data.
  • Utilize active learning strategies to assist the learner in meeting the course objectives. This may include job site visits and guest speakers.
  • Utilize Zoom and Moodle (online course management system) to aid students while working out of town.
  • Participate in all required meetings and events as requested by the department or administration.

Qualifications
Minimum:
  • Journeyman Electrician License
  • A commitment to teaching excellence and the mission of a comprehensive community college

Desired:
  • Master Electrician License

Supplemental Information
Work Environment:

Typical work environment is a classroom, computer lab and/or office setting requiring normal safety precautions. Occasional site visits, where extra safety precautions will be required. Work is usually performed during the normal workday, however, occasional early morning, late evening and weekend work may be required. Short periods of time will be spent outdoors traveling between campus buildings in various weather conditions.
Physical Demands:
Employee must be able to stand for long periods of time, speak, hear, use hands and fingers to handle materials and use computer, feel, and reach with hands and arms. Occasional lifting of up to 25-50 pounds may be required. Specific vision requirements are close up with the ability to adjust focus. Noise levels are minimal to moderate.
