Job Title: FULLY REMOTE Civil Engineer

Job Description
Work closely under project managers to produce commercial site plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Engage in sub-division design, visit job sites to ensure construction matches design, and consult with clients. Manage up to five projects simultaneously, with projects typically lasting 1-2 weeks and spanning different phases. Involvement from initial surveying to final stages of permitting, taking 2-3 months for small projects and 4-5 months for large projects.
Responsibilities
Produce commercial site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Engage in sub-division design.
Visit job sites to ensure construction matches design.
Consult with clients and city/government organizations to gather necessary information.
Manage multiple projects in different phases simultaneously.
Participate in the process from initial surveying to the final stages of permitting.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a similar field.
5+ years of design experience in commercial land development or site design.
EIT certification required, PE preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Experience with site plan design, stormwater management plans, drainage calculations, and detention calculations.
Strong understanding of contours and grading plans.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Excellent communication skills with clients, colleagues, and team members.
Experience with site development, stormwater management, and land development.
Work Environment
Typical projects include suburban commercial site plans and residential subdivisions located across IA and surrounding states. The firm comprises 8 Professional Engineers, 5 Land Surveying crews, and Landscape Architects with a total of 40 employees. This position is open due to growth and the firm has reoccurring customers. The work environment includes regular performance-based bonuses, frequent team outings, and a high-energy focus on meeting project deadlines. The office has a laid-back culture with a ping pong table and golf outings, and employees have the freedom to visit job sites as necessary.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $120000.00/hr.
